Distance: 4 miles round trip
Time Needed: 2-3 hours

The trail to Parker Lake sitting at 8155′  is the easy go-to hike for visitors who have not yet acclimated to the altitude in June Lake. Starting from a parking lot reached by a dirt road off of the North June Lake loop, it has an immediate small elevation climb up
from the sagebrush, but after that becomes a somewhat level trail along Parker Creek. Much of the trail is shaded and follows along the creek. Though less distinct, the trail can be taken around the entire lake, if more mileage is desired. It is a great running trail, and in addition, at the 1.8 mile point, there is a cut off for the Parker Bench Trail which will take you all the way back to Silver Lake over a 5 mile cross country adventure. This trail has plenty of water for dogs.
