Since 2007, we have helped maintain trails and public lands in the June Lake Loop and nearby areas

Our Mission

Promote and aid in the maintenance of a multi-use network of trails in the June Lake and adjacent areas for the benefit of local residents and visitors. Work together with regional partners to maintain and steward our local and regional public lands.

WHO WE ARE

The June Lake Trails Committee is a group of June Lake and Mono Basin residents who have a passion for the trails they hike daily. We meet approximately one a month to plan events. We operate under fiscal sponsorship of the Friends of the Inyo and hold a Volunteer Service Agreement (VSA) with the Inyo National Forest.

What We Have Achieved

  • Established annual June Lake Trails Day and National Trails Day events

  • Advocated for increased recreation in the June Lake Area

  • Contributed to writing a successful grant for watershed restoration work in the 20-Lakes Basin and contributed to the resulting work.

  • Helped in the construction of the Gull Lake Trail

  • Partially funded and helped rebuilt the Parker Bench Boardwalk in a collaborative effort with regional partner groups.

  • Contributed to waste facilities for Parker and Fern Lake trailheads.

  • Replaced trail signs in the June Lake Loop.
