Distance: 3.5 miles (Loop) / 6 miles (Summit Trail+Loop)
Time to Hike: 1.5 to 2 hours/ 3 to 4 hours

From its trailhead at the baseball diamond, located on the corner of Northshore and Mountain Vista Drive. The trail is broken up into two distinct parts, the loop and the summit trail. Starting up a gully the trail gradually rises to a junction; with the summit trail to the right and the loop on the left.  The Reverse Peak Loop meanders through high desert sage fields and, old-growth forest of Lodgepole pine, Juniper, and Aspen.  The trail then goes past several small seasonal lakes know as Snow Lakes; in the early winter the Snow Lakes freeze over and attract ice skaters. In summer months the best time to hike is in the morning or evenings as most of the trails receives direct sunlight and there is little shade.

The summit trail is steep, rising 1200 feet in 1.5 miles until it reaches the rocky summit at 9455 feet.  Enjoy the expansive views of the peaks surrounding June Lake, Mono Lake and the southeast border of Yosemite National Park while filling out the summit register.
