The Walker Lake Trail descends to Walker Lake via a short section of switchbacks. After you reach Walker Lake, you can access the Mono Pass Trail, that climbs up past the Sardine Lakes to Mono Pass, and into Yosemite Park.  No dogs are permitted beyond the Park boundary, which is just over Mono Pass.
